Today, September 30, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. There are a number of things you can do today to observe this important day (such as wear orange). Another thing you can do is read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action. If you are looking for a way to explore these calls to action to your children, check out the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada Spirit Bear’s Guide to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action, which is a kid-friendly way to understanding this important document.
